The Specifics of Embroidery

There are various things to take into consideraton if you want to get your design embroidered. This section is to provide you with information about the embroidery specifics we use on all our embroidery projects so you can tell us exactly what you need and how we can execute it.

Types of Embroidery

embroidery-type-1

Direct Embroidery

The type of embroidery used to describe designs that are directly embroidered on the surface of the fabric. It has a flat, clean finish as the design is directly embedded to the fabric. Very durable and difficult to remove without damaging the fabric.

embroidery-type-2

Patch Embroidery

Patches are designs that are embroidered on a piece of fabric. They can be attached to surfaces by sewing them on. Patch embroidery is versatile because sewn-on patches can easily be removed and repurposed. Some patches are even used as collectibles!

Fills and Borders

embroidery-type-3

Fill with Border

Commonly used for patch type logos but can also be used in direct embroidery. It takes the longest time to produce out of the three because of the thread fill on the background but it gives you the freedom to choose the background's color. Very sturdy and can be used on wear and tear items.

embroidery-type-4

Border Only

An embroidered outline is placed around your logo. Faster to produce than Fill with Border because of the lack of Fill. The fabric where the logo is sewn on will serve as its background. A good option if you want both a border as a cutting guide and a cheaper alternative to Fill with Border.

embroidery-type-5

No Fill, No Border

Mostly used for direct embroidery logos. Pick No Fill and No Border if you want your logo to have a natural look on your surface. This is also the one you use if your design already has a Fill and Border incorporated in it.
